PowerWatch GOOD GOVENOR $89.99 * #1118

PowerWatch Technologies GOOD GOVERNOR  This handy tool checks voltage and AC frequency while diagnosing wiring problems.

In today's world of sophistication, motorhome electronics have become complex. While every new owner assumes that all the appliances and accessories will last their entire engineered lifetime, there is a strong possibility that one or more of these electrical goodies will stop working without notice. In many situations, the quality of the power is at fault. Voltage surges and high or low voltage -; whether from your 120-volt AC generator or from campground hookups - can damage everything in their circuitous path. Coming to the rescue is the Good Govenor electrical monitor. It's a plug-in unit, designed to test voltage, polarity and 120-volt AC frequency, that can be used as a full-time monitoring device or as a temporary calibration tool.

When plugged in to any 15amp, 120-volt AC electrical outlet, the Good Govenor can be switched to measure voltage or frequency (hertz); leaving the sliding switch in the middle allows the light-emmiting diode (LED) readout to display voltage and hz alternately. Appliances used in North America operate at 60hz. The monitor's polarity tester will diagnose wiring problems and display six conditions through a combination of three LED lights recessed in the housing. The Good Govenor is an excellent tool for monitoring campground hookups as well as for keeping an eye on your motorhome's 120-volt AC generator and invertor.

Over time, the 120-volt AC generator's governor can go out of adjustment, providing unsuitable power for most appliances and accessories. Adjustment of the generator governor cannot be accomplished without a frequency meter. The Good Govenor can monitor voltage ranging from 40 to 200 volts, and it will indicate AC frequency from 20 to 100 hz. PowerWatch recommends that electronic equipment not be operated when AC voltage is above 135 and that air conditioner compressors not be operated when AC voltage is below 100 -; parameters that are easily monitored with the Good Govenor.
